Drabble Challenge #14

Prompt: previous title (The Woman in the Moon)

related to Dust

Tracy's tears cut furrows through the dirt and soot until they dammed up and around her upper lip.

"They destroyed everything," she said as she stumbled through the smoky debris.

Sherry squinted up at the early morning sun and said, "We'll rebuild the barn and the house. We saved the fairies and no one died."

Tracy sank to the muddy ground and said, "They'll just come back and do it again. Why bother rebuilding."

Sherry walked up behind her and gently stroked her sister's hair, "It's our home, and we'll learn to fight. Just like the Woman in the Moon."
