Cracks

I’m the one with the cheerful smile
Sharing my sunny disposition with the world

‘How are you?’ people will ask
"I’m good!" I inevitably reply

Most of those who know me
Think I am happy and positive all the time

They see the persona I create
And never think to look beyond it

I seem almost like Mary Poppins
Without a dark side, or any worries

But I worry plenty, and
I’m often in the depths of depression

It’s something private though,
So I keep it locked tightly inside

I can not let them see
The cracks in my armor
