Decisions of the Heart

“Yvonne, what made you decide you wanted to open a Bed and Breakfast?” I asked.

“Well,” she replied, “it’s always been my dream. As a nurse, all of my life was spent taking care of sick people. I wanted to do something where I was dealing with people who are happy and doing something fun instead of their being sick.”

“Paula,” I asked, turning to face her partner, “was this also your dream?”

“No,” she answers quickly.

“Then why do it?” I query. “What WAS your dream?”

“My dream was to do whatever it was that would make Yvonne happy.”
