Drabble Challenge #67 [Alternate]
Prompt: cold
Icicles sparkling in the sun
Snow piled against the trees
That fresh scent filling the crisp air
Okay, none of THAT’S possible here and now
NEVER here, actually,
So how about…
A TALL glass of iced tea,
(Or maybe iced tea flavored vodka in lemonade)
Sitting on the edge of Ellis Square Fountain,
After walking through it to get drenched
(A Wet Willie’s beverage in my hand)
Twenty-three days so far,
Of ninety degrees or above temperatures
(And it’s not even mid June!)
No break in sight—for MONTHS!
All I can really think about is
COLD
(And a drink)
