Part 3 - Like Losing A Friend

The stuffed, (real or not), chicken had become almost like a friend to us. We parked on Columbia Square when going downtown, so we walked by it often.

"Hello, Chicken!" we would both call as we passed by.

It was yet another thing that made our city fun and whimsical. Where else would someone put a realistic looking stuffed chicken on a bench next to the front door? No place I can think of!

Then one day we walked along East President Street, and Mr./Ms. Chicken wasn’t there.

We were both sad, and wondered if we’d ever learn what happened.
