"Your Recall Device teleports you to our Deceleration Facility," the instructor droned, as wind whipped behind him, "but don't wait until the last minute. Recall is fast, but it's not instant."

"We all took the class," Derrick winked at Liza.

The instructor glared. "And be sure to check your backup Device." He stepped aside, so they could jump.

As the ground loomed closer, Liza pushed her Recall Device and disappeared.

Derrick grinned and pressed his Device. She was never going to live down going first. When nothing happened, his grin faded.
