Sacrifice, Completed

Torquay, chosen of the Wog, was grabbed by the six Honora and heaved into the roiling mud. He screamed once when his body slammed into Nodoroc’s flames, but it was quickly cut off as the Wog dragged him under the mud’s surface.

The boys’ were lifted to their feet, stunned by Torquay’s death, at its sudden finality.

The medicine man turned to the villagers and shouted, “The Wog has chosen, let us leave!”

The Honora, not unkindly walked the boys back toward the village of Snodon, back to their captivity.

John Franklin stumbled next to Sidmouth and whispered, “Never forget.”
