Still In My Dreams

‘You never find the people you go to meet in dreams…’ This spoke to me so I pinned it to my bulletin board when I was thirteen.

I kept dreaming though...

I dreamt of a man I had never really met. A man I felt was the true love of my soul. I dreamt and I planned. I would go find him once I came of age. I would prove that my feelings were ‘real.’

Yet somehow, once old enough, I didn’t go. I rationalized that I’d rather hold onto my dream than risk shattering it.

I never found him.
