With their backs literally against the brick wall, there was no place to go as the slimy brown mass oozed across the floor toward them.

They pressed harder against the wall.
“No, I don’t know it’s true! Certainly not *this* time!”
“Fine. If you don’t want me to say ‘don’t panic’ I won’t.”
