My embers perpetually glimmer,
Timeless passion for you
Producing an immutable heat within me
Yet it is an ardor I feel I must hide
A gift undesired, an inappropriate lust

Then unexpectedly,
You strike a match of your own,
Creating a radiant warmth
A gift to me, to Us,
But I become fearful
The conflagration could engulf us
So I retreat from your offering

We must combine my glowing cinders
With your expectant new flame
Add kindling slowly,
Give it the breath of life, of love
This new blaze will keep us warm
Bring us together as One
