Reflection

As the tiny brown feet of her niece kicked and flailed in the air amidst squeals of delight, she was really shocked to see it - yet, there it was!

The dip in the big toenails, looking as if bites had been taken out, crooked little toes, the mole on the ankle. Traits that she had always possessed with shame and had spent a lifetime trying to cover with clunky, manly shoes and a stifling disallowance of sandaled freedom.

Through grown-up, auntie eyes, she saw those lovely, mirrored flaws and at long last, fell in love with her own feet.
