Who doesn't remember their baby's first visit to the ocean?

Those tentative initial steps...the expression on her face as the incoming tide tickled her little feet...the awkward scrambling retreat towards dry land. So precious!

Our home being in Colorado, four-month-old Denali and her brother Solo had never experienced anything like the beaches around Monterey. Regardless, the two wolf/husky mutts soon delighted in racing through surf and sand.

Heading home, we crested the Sierra Nevadas--straight into a snowstorm! Pictures of snowy dogs soon followed those of wet ones, as the kids chased each other around Flaming Gorge.
