Drabble Challenge #122

Prompt: teach

"Long ago, our ancestors commanded the world above," intoned the shaman. "We ate of the land and the flesh, and the homuns scurried before us in fear.

"One day, the sky exploded in flames and shards. Our ancestors sought shelter and began the Great Sleep. The homuns crept forth and stole their eyes, so that our elders would never wake."

Shariah heard this tale many times before as a child, but today it served to teach her squadron the importance of their mission.

"Go forth, brave warriors. The sky will harm you no longer. Recover the eyes of our ancestors!"
