"Where the heck are all my chickens?" the man mumbled, puzzled by the empty nests.
A sudden noise caused him to look up, where he could see dozens of chickens hanging upside down from the coop's ceiling, with their wings wrapped around them like capes.
"Well, if that's not the darnedest thing I've ever--"
The closest chicken turned its head to stare down at him with glowing red eyes.
Feeling suddenly afraid, he tried to back up, but before he could move, the chicken was on him, piercing his neck with its razor-sharp beak and drinking deeply of his blood.
