Vermin

"When did you first notice it?"

"Yesterday. It ran across the kitchen floor. Gave us quite a fright."

The exterminator pointed at a small hole in the baseboard, "That's how it got in."

"Can you get rid of it?"

"Yes. Do you have a garden?"

"In the back."

They made their way around the cottage.

"That's what I thought. You've got yourself a beanstalk."

"Where did that come from?"

"Magic beans."

"Can we go down after it?"

"I wouldn't. They like to let you get halfway and then chop down the stalk."

"Really?"

"It happens more often than you'd think."
