Drabble Challenge #34 [Alternate]

Prompt: green

part 3 of the Savannah Sonnets series: Savannah Sonnets

They color the fountains to match this holiday
But don’t do the river, like Chicago…

Parking places are few and far between
So you should take the shuttle—or walk

The prime viewing spots are in the Squares
There’s a mad dash at six AM to claim them!

The parade committee has a special breakfast
And it includes green grits!

Visitors come from the US and abroad
Our city doubles or triples in size for a day

It’s a party whether you’re really Irish
Or just for the holiday

And it’s all green on
St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah, Georgia
