Card Shopping

As Matt pawed through the ‘humorous’ anniversary cards to the dismay and hissing horror of the ignored Hallmark saleswoman, he shouted over his shoulder at Charlie, “Hey, Chuck, what do you get a girl for the “3 week” anniversary.

Charlie walked over and frowned at Matt’s choice of card and said, “It’s my experience that a mid- priced microwave is always appreciated.”

Intrigued, Matt said, “Really? They like that sort of thing?”

“Yes,” Charlie nodded, “that or other heavy, expensive appliances.”

“So when do you give them your hopes and dreams,” Matt asked sarcastically.

“First date, if you’re lucky,” Charlie responded.
