Drabble Challenge #42

Prompt: key

part 4 of the Savannah Sonnets series: Savannah Sonnets

A sweltering summer day in Savannah. Our ‘Yankee’ guests are complaining about the heat, the humidity, the bugs… They don’t drink enough water and they get blisters from wearing shoes not suited for walking.

We want to show off our beloved city though, even if they aren’t as enthusiastic as we’d like. We want them to see it ALL.

Finally we stop for a late lunch of Southern delicacies—fried chicken, barbecue, candied yams, cornbread, and of course copious glasses of ‘Southern table wine,’ or as they call it ‘sweet tea.’

And slices of cool, refreshing key lime pie. Ahhhh!
