Moving cautiously, I nearly had my hands on her when Spooky swooped into the air once more, and tumbled toward the Bull Street Ramp.
"Eeeeeeee!" I shrieked, distracting the showman’s audience.
"Look Mommy!" a small girl called. "Is that a real witch?"
"She sure SOUNDS like one!" her slightly older brother asserted.
I threw a stern glance in their direction, causing the trio to draw back.
"Don’t be alarmed, Ma’am," my ever-polite companion assured the startled group. "She’s just frustrated because her hat’s blown away."
Just then I spotted Spooky once more, twirling round a lamppost.
