Possession

I feel a dark presence pass through me...then stop, within.
I--WE--turn on the light.
I'm watching the mirror, as I struggle to lift my arm.
It doesn't move.
I hear myself yelling, Get Out! I see my lips moving--but the words don't match.
Suddenly, I feel his pain...and my terror slides over to make room for compassion. He's torn between waging violent takeover, and pleading for one more lifetime to set things right.
I reason with him. I, too, have responsibilities.
Summoning all my internal strength...I forcefully eject him.

I snap awake.
A dream?
