She opened her eyes and cautiously looked around the room.
"Welcome back to the world," her husband said, a smile on his face.
"What happened?" she asked weakly.
"There was an accident," he replied. "You've been out for three weeks."
"Now I remember," she said. Anxious, she asked, "Where's Lindy?"
His face turned somber. "She didn't make it," he said, "and you almost didn't either."
Tears welled in her eyes. "No! Not our beautiful daughter! I didn't get to say goodbye."
"There was no need," he said, taking her hand. "Your heart was failing, and hers was a perfect match."
