To Keep Me Warm

The cold, dark days of winter are upon us, (yeah, this is the Deep South, but to me it’s COLD, so there!). I drink coffee, cocoa and hot toddies by the mug-full, trying to focus my thoughts on WARM things.

The beach in summer… a sunny day in the park… snuggled up warm under a blanket by a roaring fire...

Okay, these are all nice enough, and yes, warm… yet something is missing.

They don’t cause my blood to run hot through my veins.

They don’t warm me to my core.

But, oh, thoughts of him… they do the trick.
