“Emotional energy isn’t real,” he said to her, hitting her full-force with the power of his skepticism. “There’s no way to measure it. And you call yourself a scientist?” he laughed, his condescension barreling down on her, withering.

“I know ‘blue’ is real without fancy equipment,” she countered, unphased and shielded by her certainty.

“Of course, blue is real! We have scientific experiments to measure, replicate and explain it.”

“Perhaps you’re right. Though I have sensors for emotions, and they have measured and replicated over and over again that you are an asshole, the explanation of it still eludes me.”
