“So it’s come to this,” Tressel said as he looked with horror at President Rucogott.

“At least they’re a demon we know,” he said as he wearily rubbed his forehead spikes, “and they are our only hope.”

“It shall be as you command,” Tressel said as he activated the communicator. “General Ornald, inform the Earth representative that the peace treaty will be signed and the planet-wide blockade will be lifted.”

“Is it worth it allowing Earthlings access to the galaxy?” Tressel asked.

“Maybe not,” the President replied, “But I’ll be damned if I allow the Nejunni to win this war.”
