Drabble Challenge #121

Prompt: drive

part 9 of the Wilder Investigations series: A Different Kind of Zombie Apocalypse

“So how are we going to catch this vulture-sized zombie mosquito?”

“I’m thinking!”

Swing… BUZZZZZ!

“I can’t hold it off with a golf club forever. Think a little faster!”

“Okay… first we need to clog up the proboscis so it can’t bite anything.”

“The pro-whatsis?”

“Proboscis. It’s that long pointy thing sticking down between its eyes.”

Swing… BUZZZZZ!

“And how are we going to do that?”

“We can grab it and drive the point into something like dirt.”

“Grab it how? And what dirt? This is a city street.”

“Let me think some more.”

“I thought you might say that.”
