Drabble Challenge #57

Prompt: text

The author-to-be sits at his typewriter, a blank piece of paper ready to receive his literary masterpiece. He starts to type. Soon the words are flying off his fingers. He reaches the end of the sheet and loads the next one. In less than an hour, he’s filled a half-dozen pages.

His wife enters. “How’s it going?” she asks.

“See for yourself,” he replies, handing her the completed sheets.

After reading, she remarks, “Wow, this is really good!”

He smiles.

Then she continues, “Too bad it’s exactly the same as the introduction to that novel I loaned you last month.”
