Drabble Challenge #127

Prompt: lethargy

"Don't touch that!"

"What is it?"

So...shiny.

"The fiendish creation of a supernaturally brilliant, yet vengeful, old man."

A hand paused in midair. "Go on..."

"It's a Lehrman Dome. Only three in existence. According to legend, Niles Lehrman actually unravelled the mysteries of Time. He became obsessed with eternal life, producing many...oddities. Mostly harmless.

The Dome flickered eagerly.

"But Time is a cruel master. It never gives--only taketh away. Eventually, Lehrman concluded that "more time" relative to others' was his only..."

The sentence shattered and froze, arrested by the lethargy of the withered old man before him.
