Drabble Challenge #1

Prompt: fire

part 6 of the series: 10 PH: Drabbles on Post-Human History

We used to complain about the western wildfires; they would burn for weeks. It seemed an eternity that people were kept from their homes.

Now there ARE no homes. And everything is still on fire.

We'd always declared that only Unbelievers would be lost in the flames. These days, the only thing pariahs roaming these smoking wastelands care about is, "Can I scavenge a hiding place with a supply of fresh air?"

Who would have thought the new chemical weapons could provide their own fuel, for so many years? And now they want to launch another--to make a MOVIE!
