Drabble Challenge #107

Prompt: notes

When he closed his eyes and tilted his head to the left, they came. They came in such a flood, he was certain they came from god.

It began, oddly enough, with a piece of shrapnel. God placed it, he decided, just right in his brain to act as a receiver; a receiver with the sole purpose of taking in notes directly from heaven.

Why him? Why this way? It didn't matter. The music, the individual notes were his and he would project them, as he was directed.

And so we have the works, the individual notes of Dmitri Shostakovich.
