He sits in his chair as he does every day, looking out the window.
His wife tells him, “Our son is coming to visit today.”
He smiles and asks, “When will he be here?”
“Very soon.”
Their son arrives, and the three of them talk for hours.
Standing to leave, the son tells his father, “I’ll be back to visit in a few weeks.”
His father replies, “It was so good to talk with you, but I’m sorry you missed our son coming to visit today.”
His mother walks him to the door and they hug, tears staining her face.
