Space, the Final Frontier

Pete Parakeet chirped excitedly "Look! The human left the door open!"

Indeed, there was a small crack under the door, Keetadette observed. "Yeah, so?" she replied.

"It's our chance!" Pete exclaimed. "This cage is so cramped! A bird needs some space to spread his wings. To soar, in wide open spaces! I'm going for it!"

Keetadette rolled her birdy eyes. "You'll be sorry".

Ignoring his cage mate, Pete wiggles his head, then his body through the crack. Taking flight, he shouts "I'm free, I'm free!"

SMACK. A stunned Pete lands below the closed window. "Told you so" Keetadette said smugly.
