Jaime felt helpless as she watched her father nurse her wound. She wondered what the change would feel like. She knew it was coming. She’d watched the raccoon eat from the neighbor's garbage. Because they were zombies, and transmission was obviously easy, she knew it was just a matter of time. It was just a scratch, but she knew that was enough. Her father tried to comfort her as he applied ointment. “Don’t worry Honey, this will heal in no time,” he said comfortingly. She wanted to believe him, but she could already feel herself being drawn to the television.
