Drabble Challenge #2

Prompt: defying gravity

Ever on a quest for the treasure of truth, of wisdom which would offer that completion he believed must exist---if only he could find it. How many dark caverns, how many high towers of imposing awe had he explored! Each one of them, in its time, had seemed promising. But, in the end, had proven to be another delusion born of arrogance or despair. "How long, O Lord..." but never an answer, never a sign that He was there. Surrender, the sages said. Let go. Lie down in the river and let it carry you wherever Sophia Herself ordains.
