“I doubt when she comes to, she’ll even remember what happened.”
“That’s probably a good thing.”
“I can’t imagine having to relive that.”
“Oh, I know! Did you hear the police describing the way everything shattered?”
“I sure did. I had no idea the bones in a face could do that.”

Josephine tried to lift her hand to her face, but her muscles failed. As her hand fell, her fingertips struck the bandages around her chin, sending a pain that shut her body down for good.
