Drabble Challenge #31

Prompt: good-bye

She was gone so quickly he never had a chance to say good-bye.

The hospital found him as soon as possible. He rushed to her but it was too late. By the time he had her in his arms her skin was growing cool, and she was gone.

Later, the girl who loved him didn’t know he was dying in time to say good-bye.

She’d dreamt of him for several months. She thought it must be a sign of something, but didn’t know what. One fall morning she received the news that he was gone.

Some must part without good-byes.
