Drabble Challenge #49
Prompt: pause
Normally I would be so busy this time of year
Choosing special gifts for special people
Writing out holiday cards
Planning all the sweet treats I would make
I would have to remind myself
To pause and enjoy the season
But this year I’m doing none of that
Haven’t bought a single gift
Don’t plan to do cards
And whatever we eat will be what we have
I don’t know if I’ll even
Put up the Christmas tree
Instead of vibrant red and green
Or shiny silver and gold
I’m stalled in darkness
How do I recapture
Lost Christmas spirit?
