On the Ice

Lying here in the hospital I think back to last week when I went ice skating for the first time. We were at a little lake on the far side of town and Lisa was giving me instructions.

“OK John. Careful now, just put one foot in front of the other.”

“Hey, this is actually not hard at all,” I said as I soared across the ice like a pro.

“John!” shouted Lisa, “Look out for that crack!”

Now here I am with two cracked ribs and a cracked ankle. Ice skating is not all it's cracked up to be!
