Drabble Challenge #65
Prompt: late
The Silence,
Yes, the silence,
The deafening silence.
As I lie here in bed,
Trying not to wake my sleeping partner,
It comes deep into my head late at night,
Along with it come the thoughts.
First come the worries,
Second come the crippling fears.
They creep into my head,
The silent tears fall without a sound.
Like a mouse through a hole
They crawl into the silent darkness.
The agonizing thoughts,
That stop my sleep.
Please, sleep come quickly,
Take away the anxiety.
Take away the hurt,
Take away the pain.
The Silence,
Yes, the Silence,
The deafening silence.
