I painted it, because in fairy tale endings she always comes through. I meant it as a signal, like a red flare over a dark ocean, proclaiming: I am here. The light just floats there in the sky. I have no idea whether or not it has been seen, whether or not it has been understood for what it is.
I took the image and painted my questions into it. I look at it now and it haunts me. Did I really have the right to do such a thing? Tell me, have I immortalized an unhappy fairy tale ending?
