Prompt: escape

The lake had never looked more beautiful, and neither had she. Sitting next to him on their picnic blanket in a cotton sundress, her long auburn hair swayed ever so gently in the warm summer breeze. Creamy smooth skin, deep blue eyes and rich, full lips completed the image of perfection. How could he have ever been so blessed, he thought.

She turns to him and smiles, their eyes meet, and they lean toward each other for a deep, passionate kiss…

“CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!” the sound of trash can lids pounding together. “Up! Get UP! Prisoners outside! Outside NOW!”

…sigh…
