First it was just the cake
At Christmastime, Rod’s birthday,
And any other time I could justify baking one
(The season premiere of "True Blood"?)

It was my favorite
It had meaning to me beyond its flavor,
But the flavor I LOVED SO MUCH!

And I felt special kinship
With others who felt the same,
Other FANATICS

But now there’s more…
It seems to be EVERYWHERE
Whoopie pies at Goose Feathers,
Macaroons at Starbuck’s
Chocolates from Godiva

And, the ultimate—
Ben and Jerry’s AND Blue Bunny
Make ICE CREAM!!!

How can I ever explain
The utter rapture of Red Velvet?
