Prompt: reflection

“What the hell is that? Honey, can you see it?”

“Looks like a bird. The hood’s curve is distorting it.”

Craley craned her head around and searched the sky for the origin of the reflection off her shiny new Ford, whose color was a creation called Looking Back Black. Marketing had professed that it would transport people back to memories of yesteryear and those very first automobiles.

“That’s strange. There’s not a thing in the sky.”

“Oh, my God! Look!” Her gaze followed her husband’s finger, pointed toward the glow of the luminous paint. A smiling, alien face stared back.
