Prompt: abandon

“But, I’ve been stuck here! You made me promise to wait for you! We swore, sisters, forever!”

“You’ve got to understand. You died a long time ago. I’ve experienced an entire lifetime since then. I have other commitments. My husband, a child of my own - they’ve already crossed over to this side. They’re waiting for me, and I promised to find them when I got here.”

“You promised me first! We were only five and I’ve been watching and waiting for you since! I should be your priority.” Now softer, said to the other’s retreating form, “Please….I’m so lonely….”
