Lisa comes walking into the hospital room with a vase of flowers and a get well soon balloon.
“Hi, John. How ya' feeling today?”
“Much better thank you.”
“I brought you some flowers to help cheer you up.”
“Thanks. They are beautiful. Do you mind getting me some water?”
“Diet or regular?”
“Don't make me laugh,” I say with a chuckle.
“Regular or unleaded?”
“I said don't make me laugh!”
“Would you prefer that water straight up or on the rocks?”
“Please no more!” I tell Lisa through laughter, pain, and tears.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to crack you up!”
