"It isn't fair!" Life sobbed as he careened into Universe's arms.
"Just as soon as I grow something cool, he kills it!"
Universe combed her fingers through Life's unruly mop of hair.
"That's his duty," she said. "Think of the suffering your creations would experience if they never died."
Life's green eyes searched Universe's face and asked, "But does he have to enjoy it so much? Five times now he's clobbered my blue planet and the last time he laughed as the meteor hit."
"Start again," Universe cooed. "And grow me something interesting."
Life grinned as he started to dance.
