"Have you sent the invitations?" the butler asked.
"No," Dr. Black hesitated. "Not yet."
"You have to! If they don't get them in time..."
"What's the point? The night always ends the same way."
"Of course. How else could it end?"
"I could retire early tonight and maybe go out tomorrow. I've always wanted to see what tomorrow's like."
"That's crazy!"
"What's crazy is having dinner with people who hate me, and leaving daggers and revolvers lying around!"
"Just send the invitations."
"No."
"That's too bad," the butler said, swinging the candlestick.
