Drabble Challenge #61

Prompt: safe

They wonder if we feel uncomfortable being the only white people on the block… but they don’t know our wonderful neighbors:

The eighty-year-old retired schoolteacher who runs a business with her seventy-five-year-old sister and goes on cruises

The sixtysomething man who takes photographs and paints pictures—yet has a backyard right off "Sanford & Son"

The "witch-doctor" next door, who makes furniture & jewelry and is still a ladies’ man at nearly sixty

Or the ninety-year-old man who still paints his second-floor trim and mows the lawns of the widow ladies on the block

WHY should we fear these people?
