Drabble Challenge #96

Prompt: ephemeral

The Creator reached forth and touched the void.

Suddenly the Universe erupted in a dazzling flash, as it rushed out to fill the empty space. Where there had been nothing, there was now a kaleidoscope of spinning galaxies. Where there had been darkness, there was now a sea of stars. Where there had been silence, there was now a symphony of planets, teeming with life.

Too soon, the explosion of colours faded, as entropy forced the Universe to wind down and stop.

The Child clapped and giggled with delight. "Do it again!"

The Creator reached forth and touched the void...
