"It’s the end of the world!" a tiny, severe looking woman intoned as she stood before the gathered crowd.
"They are harbingers of the end of civilization!" proclaimed an imposing man standing beside her, holding a bible aloft.
"Our children! Our children!" a woman in the crowd wailed, her face the same vibrant shade of pink as the curlers in her hair.
"What’s all this about?" asked a bespectacled man upon entering the square.
"Oh," a woman in front of the town library replied, "the same old end-of-the-world nonsense as before." She laughed mockingly. "This time they’re blaming the Beatles."
