Drabble Challenge #113

Prompt: closed
She gave birth to me,
But doesn’t know who I am
She thinks she does,
Which makes it even worse
Bound by blood,
Yet we remain strangers
Sharing memories,
But, alien to each other
Why haven’t I been able
To tell this woman I call "Mom,"
What I think and feel,
What I dream and wish?
Why do I feel she’d judge,
And not understand,
If I showed her the "me,"
Behind the mask?
Is she the one who closed the door?
Or did I slam it tight?
Can we ever expunge
This estrangement we share?
Do we want to?
